Shore Leave HO! Or perhaps the grave?
Category: Photo

Sorry about the lack of posts lately -- been working and stuff. 😛 But this weekend I'm getting a bit of a vacation, since if all goes well I'll be heading out to Shore Leave with Em and De of Retroactive Continuity. My mum's all worried about it -- "Those weirdos from the Internet will rape and torture and kill you!" -- but hopefully I'll still be able to go. I'm 22, damnit! But now if I disappear or something, you know who to spam. 😛 (more...)

Scary-Crayon Updated!
Category: SC Updates

It's a little late in the day, but I said I'd get it up, so here it is... the official SC review of "Power Rangers in Space: Shell Shocked", i.e. the episode containing the historic meeting of the Power Rangers and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Enjoy! I'll probably be back later to talk about my life and crap. 😛

Duck, Punch, Block, Kick, Punch.
Category: Miscellany

Hi all. Expect a new Scary-Crayon piece up tomorrow (Tuesday) -- I'd hoped to have it up today, but it doesn't look like that's going to happen. I think it'll be worth the wait, though. Spectare reviews are always fun, and especially so when they involve our five half-shelled heroes... waitaminute, five?!? That's the only hint you're getting.

In other news, I finished a new (really) short story! 890 words. I'm going to sit on it for a few days, maybe let some folks read it and offer suggestions, then throw it at a market and see if it sticks. FYI, Word's Readability Statistics rate it at 57.5 for Flesch Reading Ease and 12.0 for Flesch-Kincaid Grade Level. I dunno exactly what those stats mean, but they sure make my writing sound complicated. 😛 (more...)

Bookstore notes and a handful o' links.
Category: Miscellany

Notes from the bookstore:

Several days ago, a woman came in asking for this title. She seemed incredibly sad, and after I got over the initial shock, I felt incredibly sad for her. I wonder what it was like for her -- not just the whole ordeal, which I can't imagine, but how it must have been to actually go in and ask for that title... I think I might've blurted out, "Whoa... that's... heavy..." before of course offering my condolences (I'm pretty sure this book was for her, though I guess you'd still be pretty upset if you were buying the book for someone close to you). We didn't carry the book in the store. (more...)

Scary-Crayon Updated!
Category: SC Updates

And now, Scary-Crayon presents... SNACK CAKE SUSHI!!! Enjoy!

Oh, and as noted in the now hopefully more visible Site Talk block on the main page, I switched its position with that of the Section Archives box (so if you're looking for it, just scroll down). To be honest, I'm not all *that* pleased with it this way, since if people aren't going to see things I'd much rather them miss the Site Talk than the older articles, but I figure I can always change it back depending on the information supplied by the logs. We'll see.

Anyway, gotta run, and I wrote quite a bit in the last post, so read that if you want to know what I've been up to. Ja.
