the BATMAN... and more!
Category: Art

Hello furenzu! No Scary-Crayon updates today (either tomorrow or Friday, I'm thinking, and not the Hellraiser piece, but another one I need to photograph, and thanks, Dave, for your question -- I intend to answer it in the article itself, in the analytical musings that follow the description of the dream!), but I do have some drawings to share. Also, I got a call yesterday about a month-long temp job at the county community college, which I've accepted, but I have yet to be called back and told about the specifics of it. Suffice it to say that since I'm still going to be working part-time at the bookstore (a few closing shifts a week), I'll be pretty busy for the next month or so. Hopefully I'll still have time to update SC at least once a week, even if it's short pieces like installments of Crayon Poetry Corner and A Crayon Haiku. Or dream things. I don't imagine that piece will be terribly long either. Long enough, though.

So, drawings! This first one should appeal to Bob, Chris, and De (and hopefully others), so do let me know what you think, guys. It's...

the BATMAN

the BATMAN!!!

Yep. (more...)

Holy Hellraiser dream, Batman!
Category: Dreams

Fuckfuckfuckfuckfuck I just had a really scary dream. I'd started to write a long blog post detailing it, but hell I think I'm going to actually include the images -- yes... it will have images, because fuck man when I woke up I was seeing dripping entrails and Pinhead's face in all sorts of objects in my room -- and some screencaps from Hellraiser I and post it as a bonus Scary-Crayon entry. Heh... that ought to help make up for the recent lack of updates... (more...)

Scary-Crayon updated!
Category: SC Updates

There's still more time in between updates than I'd like, but hopefully I'll get back into something resembling a rhythm soon. Even two irregular updates a week would be nice. Anyway, here's A Random Lunch #7! Perceptive visitors to the site might notice that there hasn't yet been A Random Lunch #6... #5 was posted a couple of months ago, but nothing since then. That's intentional. I have my reasons, but really, do I need them? The segment's called A Random Lunch, after all... and given the element of randomness present, there's no reason why I should be bound to posting them in order. So nyah. Anyway, enjoy!

I'm opening in the morning at the bookstore (ugh), so I guess I should be heading off to bed. But at least I've got a few days off following that. Then more closing fun! Yay! No, those aren't celebratory fireworks... that's the sound of me shooting myself multiple times. BECAUSE IT'S THE FUNNEST!!! Bonus points for anyone who can name the source (more/less) of the italicized line.

Aaaand I'm out. Ja for now, minna-san.

You are Rerun!

You are Rerun!

Which Peanuts Character are You?
brought to you by Quizilla

Thanks to Sarah and Sydney (and whoever else posted it; I've only seen these two so far) for linking the quiz.

Off to get ready to close at HELLJOB again. Last night sucked. Then I got mercilessly rained on (thanks, Ivan). So tired of this. Alicia Silverstone's birthday seems like as good a day as any for dying, don't you think?

Ja.

The usual suck.
Category: Miscellany

Still... so... tired. But things are just about back to normal. Worked a day shift at the bookstore Wednesday, closing tonight and tomorrow night (not to mention a mandatory associates' meeting at 8 AM tomorrow) -- yeah, the usual suck has resumed. For the most part, Wednesday was pretty slow and dull, which led me to think that maybe I prefer the days with multiple assholes -- because at least then I have a reason to complain (over and above the shitty wages and the toilet-cleaning aspects of the job). With the asshole customers, the job really feels like punishment, so at least then I'm getting a greater karmic benefit out of it. And stories, of course. (more...)
