Yep -- the new Scary-Crayon layout (more/less; I'm not finished with it) can be glimpsed here, so check it out and tell me what you think. Those links beneath the header will be graphics in the final version, and the Section Archives block, of course, will be absent from the sidebar, but other than those (and the fact that not all of the section archive links work; note the strikethroughs) this should give you a pretty good idea of what the final page will look like. I'm seriously considering using WordPress to create the Scary-Crayon blog (which will be its own section, replacing the Site Talk block on the main page).

And I don't plan on having the blog ready for it, but the layout update should go up this weekend/early next week. I'm also thinking of using an embedded frame for the main and section archive pages, similar to what Matt recently did on X-Entertainment. That wouldn't be for the current layout mod, but it's a possibility for the future. It would definitely streamline things.

The freaknerds have left. Less than an hour to go.

Another thing that pisses me off about them is that, for all of their freaknerdishness, the dork-trivia authoritative mien they exude, and the obvious fact that they have no lives outside of their geeky media pursuits, they really know jack shit about what they're talking about. (more...)
