Live from work! The debate rages on...
Category: Miscellany

Hello, readers! And welcome to my first post from the office. I don't anticipate doing too many of these, namely because writing blog entries on the clock really feels like slacking off to me, even though I'm not shirking any duties while doing so, as I stop typing to do my duties when the phone rings or someone needs me to help him/her with something in the office. Still, the interruptions are slightly annoying. Also, I dislike these computers. I know, for instance, that they must have better specs than ol' Sasquatch (my PII 400 mHz machine at the house, so named because the primary hard drive is a Quantum Bigfoot), and yet they still manage to run significantly more slowly than my longtime companion. Scary-Crayon updated!
Category: SC Updates

Two new pieces on the good Scary-Crayon -- A Crayon Haiku #17 and the first of yet another SC featurette, Dusty Plastic Hell: Hot Flash #1. The explanation for the latter piece -- at the bookstore we sell a porn mag (and a rather popular one at that) called "Black Tail". I don't endorse the mag at all (for obvious reasons), but with Shark Tale hitting theaters soon, the idea occurred to me to do a cover mockup of "Shark Tail" Magazine. So here it is. Amused? I am. Background courtesy of Ecco 2: The Tides of Time.

Gotta get to bed so I can wake up tomorrow and do the work thing again. Ja!

Work work work
Category: Miscellany

Quick post. So I started job #2 yesterday -- in case I didn't mention it before, I'm going to be filling an administrative clerk position at the local community college while another employee is out on extended sick leave. There wasn't a lot I could do on my first day, what with me not having the requisite keys and computer passwords to do what I'll eventually be doing, so I was mostly running errands and xeroxing forms and whatnot. It's a fulltime position (temporary, though, so no benefits), and with me keeping the bookstore job, for at least the next month I'll be working seven days a week. That is, I'm going to be swamped, but hopefully I'll find time to update Scary-Crayon at least once a week. As always, though I'll shoot for two updates. (more...)

Scary-Crayon updated! and Neo Deep Dive Batman!
Category: Art … SC Updates

YEP! I'm about ready to pass out, but I couldn't crash before finishing Leatherhead and Don's Netiquette Special!!! It's more of a rant on my part than anything else, with Super Don and Leatherhead as mouthpieces (though there is some "witty" banter in there, because there always is), but hopefully it'll open a few eyes or something. And I'm trying a new image referral script out, so if you notice any cow anuses popping up around the site, shoot me an e-mail and I'll try to fix it. It should only show up for foreign referrals, but then again I don't exactly know what I'm doing here... Anyway, hope you enjoy the piece. (more...)

the BATMAN... and more!
Category: Art

Hello furenzu! No Scary-Crayon updates today (either tomorrow or Friday, I'm thinking, and not the Hellraiser piece, but another one I need to photograph, and thanks, Dave, for your question -- I intend to answer it in the article itself, in the analytical musings that follow the description of the dream!), but I do have some drawings to share. Also, I got a call yesterday about a month-long temp job at the county community college, which I've accepted, but I have yet to be called back and told about the specifics of it. Suffice it to say that since I'm still going to be working part-time at the bookstore (a few closing shifts a week), I'll be pretty busy for the next month or so. Hopefully I'll still have time to update SC at least once a week, even if it's short pieces like installments of Crayon Poetry Corner and A Crayon Haiku. Or dream things. I don't imagine that piece will be terribly long either. Long enough, though.

So, drawings! This first one should appeal to Bob, Chris, and De (and hopefully others), so do let me know what you think, guys. It's...

the BATMAN

the BATMAN!!!

Yep. (more...)
