Scary-Crayon updated!
Category: SC Updates

Just a quick note to say yes, Scary-Crayon updated. I've had this one laying around, but I thought it was time for it to go live -- so this time we've got for you the first ever Scary-Crayon video game review: "The Wizard of Oz" for the SNES. It's pretty awful. The game, that is. Hopefully the review itself isn't so bad.

The latest Oprah magazine is also dreadful (from the looks of the cover; I'm too afraid to open the thing), so despite my NOT WANTING TO GO ANYWHERE NEAR IT I'm still very tempted to scan the cover and go for another review...ugh. We'll see.

And a couple of the recent SC articles have been among my favorites to ever grace the site, so if you missed out on Where's April??? and the McDonald's Cup Review, be sure to give them a read.

New SC content on Sunday or Monday, but I'll probably have more to say in the blog tonight. And new links! Ja for now. 🙂

Fluff. And a beatnik poem! And photos... :)
Category: Miscellany

I've been enjoying my break from the rapid-fire substantial posts, so let's have another laid-back one tonight. Hopefully I won't spend too much time writing it. I'd like to get in a movie or maybe do some more work on another SC feature before my energy levels flag and I'm forced to retire, but that may not be for a while given that my sleeping schedule has been way off. So we'll see. (more...)

Scary-Crayon updated!
Category: SC Updates

Finally (!!!), the April article is up, in two parts. Part 1 is pretty much the blog essay that appeared here over a month ago, with a few added photographs from my toy collection and video games (and a couple of photos of Wes in Disneyworld, '91); part 2 is an all-new toy comic detailing the quest to get her back. Give 'em a look and let me know what you think. (more...)

What the heck??? :o
Category: Miscellany

Light-hearted post tonight. I still want to throw out those more substantial comments regarding Judaism, and give a few brief responses to Dawn's points regarding the consequences of replacement theology (which can accurately be summed up by saying "not necessarily" a bunch of times ;)), but I'm in no mood to do that tonight. And since all I ate today was junk -- frozen onion rings and breaded okra (microwaved, because I was too lazy to fry them or wait for the toaster oven), Little Debbie Nutty Bars and Star Crunches, Tastykake Kandy Kakes and Butterscotch Krimpets, and sweet potato chips (can ya tell I'm not in a good mood?) -- I figured we'd go for another junk-food type post. Should keep from upsetting me further, anyway. (more...)

Wes's Deal Breakers! (And a lot of indignation...)
Category: Serious

Well, given the recent cavalcade of substantial posts (why can't I be this prolific with my fiction writing?), I'm going to try and write a relatively light-hearted entry tonight. While I'm trying to stay out of the replacement theology debate that's going on over at Dawn's (and though my understanding of the issue is limited, it seems to me that replacement theology not only seems like a logical step to make, but also has a few Biblical verses sort of going for it), I did want to respond to a few points in her latest post. But I may just do that by e-mail. Speaking of e-mail, Mac made a few points in our ongoing dialogue with respect to my last post -- I'll have to get clearance first to post them here, but they're worth adding to the record. And I also wanted to say a few more words on the matter (in conjunction with my commentary on Dawn's points), but those can wait for now. (more...)
