BOOYAH! Scary-Crayon is updated! In addition to those two pieces I gave blog readers a sneak-preview of this morning -- A Crayon Haiku #16 and Crayon Poetry Corner: Resident Evil 2 Edition -- you can now satisfy your weird food cravings with two new Foodstuffs selections -- THE SANDWICH THAT PETRIFIES THE GODS and Turtle Spew. The former is by far the most fearsome, though I have a feeling that many folks will go for the latter, especially with the TMNT tie-in. Oh, and Caren should like Turtle Spew as well. It's got oatmeal in it. 🙂

Hopefully those will keep folks entertained for the next week, since I leave for NYC early in the morning! I'm not sure if I'll be able to update the blog or answer e-mail and such, but we'll see. And I plan on getting in one more post before I shut down the PC, so I'll see you then. Ja!

Okay, with the exception of the modifications to the main and archive pages, everything's all set for today's massive Scary-Crayon update. Unfortunately, I've got to get ready and hurry off to work, so I won't be able to update until I get back, but we're definitely on track to have that up around 6 or 7-ish. (more...)

Yep, another for the pile -- this one for my short piece entitled "Mold Country". It's funny how these fiction rejections tend to come back within days of each other, whether I sent them out at the same time or not -- it's like the editors of various rags conspire to make sure I get my rejections right together in order to discourage me from wasting their time with further short story submissions. I fully expect to have that third one in my possession before I leave for NYC. Hell, there's the mailman... maybe it's out there RIGHT NOW! We'll find out in a bit.

Okay, I decided to go ahead and post that piece now, just to give people something to tide them over until Friday's more substantial update. So here it is -- A Crayon Haiku: Resident Evil 2 Edition. The images are from an old demo version of Resident Evil 2 for the PC that I apparently took a bunch of screencaps from five or so years ago, so upon digging them up I just took a handful of the buggers and wrote haikus about each. Enjoy!

So after closing those five nights in a row, I've got a couple of days to rest and get ready for that trip before going back in on Friday. Ugh. I might post again today with more HORROR FROM THE BOOKSTORE!!!! Might not. We'll see. Until next time... ja.

So, yesterday saw three blog updates, two of which make me sad. If you haven't gotten around to reading those yet, scroll down (or whatever) and read them.

With SC, I'm thinking I'll forego the mid-week update and just try to get everything I can ready for Friday. So hopefully that'll be four pieces, including the special editions of A Crayon Haiku and Crayon Poetry Corner (one of which I may decide to post tonight, so adjust these numbers accordingly). And possibly five, if I whip up another piece. I'll shoot for five, but no promises. Either way, there should be some good stuff to keep you entertained while I'm gone. (more...)
