Thus revealed, the creature buried its nose in the tire-tilled soil...

More bookstore notes. And sadness.
Category: Miscellany

1. The other day, I was ringing up a woman's purchase while her friend stood back and watched. The woman decided to go ahead and get a discount card, which requires her name, phone number, etc., so following the prompts on the register I first asked for her last name. She told me -- it was "Arnold" -- and suddenly her friend burst into laughter so hysterical she had to lean against the adjacent counter as she tried desperately to catch her breath, only to break out into peals of laughter just as it seemed that she was about to stop. I thought this was rather strange, so I looked over at her with a raised eyebrow as the customer inquired as to what was so funny. Quoth the laughing woman, "Your name... that always makes me think of Benedict."

Then they both broke out in a maniacal fit of laughter. If they ever stopped, it wasn't until after they left the store. (more...)

More wacky drawing articles...
Category: Miscellany

After waffling around a bit concerning the topic of the next Scary-Crayon article, I decided to forego the usual suspects for something spur of the moment and timely, since it's related to a flick opening this weekend. Like the Pan piece, I drew up a handful of quick illustrations to go with it, so when I get off work around 6 tomorrow I'll scan and color those and actually write up the piece -- if all goes smoothly, I should have it up around midnight, though if I finish it earlier I'll sneak it up whenever. It's still counting as Saturday's update, though. 😛 But stay tuned -- I think you'll like this one. If nothing else, the drawings are hilarious. At least I think so. But then, I'm a psycho. You may find them disturbing.

Oh, and I finally bought The Phantom Tollbooth yesterday. Dunno when I'll get around to reading it, but it's here.

And Mickey! Thanks for the video, chica. 😀

I think I'll grab some tortilla chips and watch a quick half-hour show before heading to bed. Ja.

Make my libido...
Category: Miscellany

Well, it's been said before, and I've no doubt it'll be said again. I've been questioned by police for my supposed plans to murder entire lots of people in the past. I've been accused of stalking by more people than I care to remember. Scary-Crayon has been described as the work of a crazy person. And now, with reference to what I wrote concerning this link, check out this recent blog comment from kadus: (more...)

One of these days...
Category: Miscellany

I feel pretty good right now. I like myself. But I always like myself. Presently, I also like what I'm doing. I'm drinking. And eating apple pie. Or I was eating apple pie. I'm not anymore. I like pie. Picked it up today during my half-hour break, which I spent pacing the aisles of Toys 'R' Us and Giant looking for crap on which to waste my meager hard-earned pay. And, as said, I went with an apple pie at Giant. An overbaked pie. It's quite amusing how they put that "Oops! We overbaked!" sticker on there, as if I'd be able to tell that they overbaked the pie. It's not like they burned it or anything. (more...)

The Wes is back! Didja miss me?
Category: Miscellany

HI! So I got in from Shore Leave around 4-ish, checked a few things, and then crashed for a few hours. I think I'll crash for a few more, but I thought I'd post first and make it known that I did not get murdered or raped in any way. Well, perhaps a little more of my always-decreasing faith in the human race died a horribly bloody death, and some of the things that I saw left my eyeballs feeling horribly violated and scarred, but my figurative rectal cherry remains unpopped and I don't have any new orifices in places they don't belong, like over my left breast or in between my ribs. So that's good. (more...)
