With the news of author Tom Wolfe's death, my first thought was, "Hey, didn't I do a comic about him way back when? I think I did!" And then I looked the comic up and... holy crap, lol. But I think that was a pretty common humor template back then: point out a potentially ludicrous thing, explain why it's potentially ludicrous, and punctuate the discussion with a desire for the perpetrator of the potential ludicrousness to die horribly. I still remember a bit on Garfield and Friends -- yes, Garfield the orange cat -- that ended with Garfield muttering, "People who sing like that should be dragged out into the street and shot." Again, this was on Garfield and Friends. Rating: TV-G. (more...)
I'd been meaning to post these for a while but never got around to it. Well, here are a bunch of photos of my old dorm room from umpteen years ago. Yep. (more...)
So apparently, as of May 10, Flesh & Blood is closed to submissions until September. D'oh! Need to find somewhere else to send this story in the meantime -- I'm thinking Cemetery Dance could work. We'll see.
Speaking of writing, I was browsing my old directories and came across some old stories I wrote in school, one of which more/less signifies the beginning of a lesbian relationship between two teenage girls. (Nothing really happens, but there's subtle flirtation and at the end of the story the two girls ditch school together to go eat ice cream.) I was just thinking yesterday that maybe Ellen DeGeneres should've kept her mouth shut about the supposed sexual abuse from her father, given the various arguments that homosexuals are "created" through such traumatic childhood experiences as, surprise!, sexual abuse, and that this constitutes proof that same-sex attraction is unnatural and caused by icky things. But oddly enough, in this story, I wrote sexual abuse into the background of one of the girls. I don't know why I did that. Weird. (more...)
It's Screamin' Meemie of MADBALLS fame, anime style! Drew this a while ago -- back in college. I can't remember the date, but it was one of my earlier attempts at scanning drawings in and coloring them on the PC. Still looks pretty good, I think. 🙂
And now I'm off to read a little Sin City before I sleep. Ja!
Meh, I've been feeling like crap, so I haven't updated in a while. So I was just going to write that and that maybe I'll give a better update this weekend.
HOWEVER, apparently I had started an update in here a while ago that I never posted, about a f*cked up dream I had. So until next time, hope this is entertaining. (more...)
