Thus revealed, the creature buried its nose in the tire-tilled soil...

Random Friday night post.
Category: Art

Hello, fright fans! Plans for tonight fell through, so I figured I'd get in a quick Friday night blog entry before I continue with the drinking (there's already been some swiggage from my $5.99 1.5L bottle of sweet vermouth -- nice stuff there) and maybe do a bit of cooking. I'd tell you what it is, maybe post some pics of the last time I made it (I didn't photograph the entire process, just the finale), but I hope to have it up on Scary-Crayon one day and I'd hate to spoil the surprise, so I won't (it's truly a Wes original -- the product of my boredom and desire to use ingredients one night that year I had an illegal hot plate in my dorm room). Speaking of SC, hopefully I'll get some work done on that next article either tonight or tomorrow. Ideally I'd put it up Sunday, except we never really get that many visits on Sundays -- not that we get tons on other days either, at least not lately -- so it probably wouldn't hurt if I left it for Monday. Anyway.

I don't know if I mentioned it before in the blog -- I know I've mentioned it to folks in IM conversations before, and people who went to Yale with me might remember -- but one of the girls I had a major crush on recently competed in the Olympics. When I found out she was going in the alumni magazine, of course that made me feel kind of strange and a little sad -- I mean here I am, working at a fucking bookstore, when this girl I used to see on a regular basis is a frickin' Olympian. And I kinda wished I'd gotten to see some of her fencing matches, because she was apparently very good at it. Anyway, she took the bronze this week in women's sabre. Pretty cool. So congratulations, girl I thought was really hot whose name I'm not going to mention even though anyone who wanted to know could easily look it up, that is, if I haven't already told him/her privately.

Oh, and I did send her an e-mail once, though I'm not sure if she got it. So for your entertainment, here it is:

Hi, we just met. Lunch, friend of *******'s, on the run, recall? Anyway. If you're not too busy with training and all, I was just thinking it might be fun if we went for coffee sometime? Somewhere warm to sit down and talk about interesting stuff. I imagine you must have some fun fencing stories to tell. I just wanted to make that suggestion before I forget. So let me know if you'd be up for a chat. 🙂

Sorry for the general weirdness; I'm all over the place right now. Hurrah for the weekend.

As said, I'm not sure if she got it. Because, naturally, she never replied. I'm such a freak.

THE KING OF THE DINOSAAAAAAAAURS!!!!!

I drew a T-Rex.

And now, links:

The Imaginary Friends Home Vasectomy Kit -- This is hilarious.

EPT Pregnancy Test Positive ~ Already Taken For You!! -- Yep, that's a real eBay auction.

Ghetto Squirrel Girl -- Apparently, curly-haired Sara finds me clever. Having combed her site for a bit, I think she's pretty clever too, though somehow I doubt that the death comics are 100% true. 😉 Oh, and she thinks Caren's clever too. Having made some headway in Carrie Pilby last night, I'm inclined to agree.

VG Cats #115: Next Week on VH1 -- Everything about this comic reminds me of myself.

And speaking of myself, about the abs pics from last time -- when I took that picture, I was wearing a pair of underwear that I wore in elementary school. I don't say that to note that it was really ragged or holy or anything -- seemed like it'd never been worn, which is probably because it hasn't been in years -- but yeah, that's how much I've grown over the years. 5'4", and today's weigh-in places me at 125 lbs. Woo.

Okay, and that about does it for this post. Ja ne, minna-san.
