Well, I was definitely surprised at how much I enjoyed myself at that reunion. I pretty much expected to be sitting on a stool with my back to the bar, watching all of the people who actually knew and remembered each other mingling and having a good time while I drank away my sorrows and hummed Billy Joel's "Pianoman" to myself, but to my surprise people not only recognized and remembered me but actually seemed glad to catch up with me (and in direct violation of the "I hate everyone" rule, the reverse was true as well). So yeah, it was great. In the coming days I'll probably post a few more pics from the event (or not; we'll see), but in the meantime here are a couple... (more...)
Sorry about the lack of posts lately -- been working and stuff. 😛 But this weekend I'm getting a bit of a vacation, since if all goes well I'll be heading out to Shore Leave with Em and De of Retroactive Continuity. My mum's all worried about it -- "Those weirdos from the Internet will rape and torture and kill you!" -- but hopefully I'll still be able to go. I'm 22, damnit! If you live in the MD-DC-VA metro area and have a crush on someone who's anything like me, you just found the perfect date spot. Admittedly, one of the reasons that I don't drive is that I like to wander around on foot (since I'm never in a hurry and don't at all mind being away from here). Few things are as much fun for me as getting lost in some new and previously uncharted place. Of course, I always know that I'll eventually find my way back, but I have no idea how long it'll take me -- or, more importantly, what I'll see on the way -- and that's really exciting. (more...)
