Freaknerds: Not so bad after all.
Category: Miscellany

So today is actually going pretty well. Time's flying, I'm not about to keel over from lack of sleep (oh, I came close a little earlier, but I'm okay now), the freaknerds are gone -- things would be quiet if not for those loud fuckers in the aanihmay office way down the hall.

Actually, I'm beginning to like the freaknerds, or at least some of them -- apparently it's really only a few of them (like some members of the aanihmay club who join in the reindeer games) who bring the others down. For instance, when I was chatting with them today -- and I spent a good bit of time chatting with them -- they weren't irritating the hell out of me and I actually enjoyed the conversations. I should note that the other ones -- the ones I don't think I could have a conversation with at all, namely because they never stop talking and are always trying to ram their unfunny Star Wars gags down your throat to fill up that jokey-joke scorecard in the recesses of their minds -- were, for the most part, absent today. With them gone, the annoyance level was almost nonexistent. And with me participating in the conversations, even though I'm hardly one to dominate discussions, they did an excellent job of steering clear of irritation central.

And then, of course, there's the fairly attractive member (who reminds me more than a little of Mickey Glitter), who IMHO just drips coolness in spite of her associations (who, as I've said, don't seem half as bad now that I've had a few interesting chats with them). Even the shameless girl seems pretty neat now, so long as she's not talking about certain subjects. And the freaknerd leader seems like a genuinely nice person, whereas if I were in her position I think I'd be devising a detailed plan to destroy the world and everyone in it.

On Friday morning, I had a good chat with the leader and a friend of hers about HTML, and with the attractive girl browsing Something Awful today, I may be compelled to let them know about Scary-Crayon. Ideally I'd do it just before I leave here for good, with a "hey, drop me a line sometime" type comment, but I know that once I get the new layout up I'll be all proud and want to show it off right away. In the event that they did come to the site, however, they'd probably find the blog (not many people do; of 640+ unique visitors yesterday, only 5 clicked the Blog of Wes link) -- and then, most likely, the earlier freaknerds posts as well. I don't think they'd enjoy reading those too much. But I don't remove posts, so oh well.

Still, if any of you freaknerds who have fallen into my good graces are reading this (and I hope you know who you are), try not to be too offended with those previous posts. You're a-okay in my book now. Of course, you're still very odd... but aren't we all? I think so.

Crap, I feel like I'm going to collapse again. @_@ Anyway, ja!

Next time, on Blog of Wes: "The Bipolar Freak Who Insists Upon Touching Me". Staaaaaay tuned!
