Thus revealed, the creature buried its nose in the tire-tilled soil...

Terrible day for toys
Category: Toys

I picked up four figures today, and get this -- all of them suffer from some significant flaw. With three of them it's not too bad, since they were on clearance, but the most expensive one -- the new Batman Movie Masters figure -- just snapped apart at the fucking waist when I tried posing him. Argh! I've still got the receipt, so I should be able to return him, but given how in demand these things are I'm not sure I'll be able to get a replacement. I'm also not sure I care, since I am seriously pissed with the quality of these figures. I suspect that a bit more fiddling would have caused him to lose his leg as well.

I almost don't even want to see The Dark Knight now. 🙁

I didn't venture into any toy-selling retail shops over the weekend. Had to go to Ikea to buy a bed. It's probably just as well; I would have likely bought a ton of the new Batman and Indiana Jones figures. I'm a weak weak man.

On the bright side, the Iron Man figures are pretty darn cool.

Sorry to hear about the toy breakage.

T.A.B and I were in a toy store a few weeks ago and we came across a bunch of Superman action figures that all had their right hands missing. Some of the hands were on the bottom of the box.

I don't recall how much they were but I think they were fairly cheap.

Anyhow I'm sure you will be able to ret if you can't return the figure, you can make a new Batman figure. That would be cool.

The last paragraph was suppose to read...

I'm sure you will be able to return the figure but if you can't you could always make a new Batman. Maybe out of some spare parts from other broken figures. That would be pretty cool.

De: Yeah, I like the Iron Man figures. Not enough to get all of them -- especially since a lot of them are repaints! -- but I did pick up one of those Wal-Mart exclusive War Machines a few weeks ago. He was the only figure they had!

Ro: Ah yes, you mean the DCD Re Activated Series 1 Superman! I've seen tons of those with broken hands as well, which is a shame -- with his hands attached, he's my favorite Superman figure to date.

I was able to return the broken Bats, but unfortunately TRU was sold out of them so I couldn't get a replacement. Oh well -- I'm sure I'll run into those figures again at some point. And if not, I can always put that money towards a Chronicles of Narnia Aslan figure! 😀
