Multiple sources, but you can read the news here. Greg of Pop Arena's also written a pretty extensive article about the subject. It's entirely possible that Dunst was fibbing, though.
Personally, I think they should use stop-motion claymation for Venom -- old-school style, so there would be that rippling skin look due to the indentations left in the clay by the fingers of the folks positioning the model -- but I doubt Raimi would go that route.
