Thus revealed, the creature buried its nose in the tire-tilled soil...

Assuming you're not already, would you become a vegetarian if it were suddenly discovered that cows, pigs, chickens, goats, etc. could talk and, moreover, are capable of highly intelligent thought? And do you think that most people would make significant changes to their eating habits?

Just wondering!

I won't eat things I can communicate with. Which justs means I won't eat dogs and dolphins. If cows suddenly got smart, I'd become a veggie.

  • NJWT says:

If that happened, there would be new labels on the food.
    "Wise ass goat"
    "Racist cow"
    "Cheapskate Chicken"
And people would only eat animals that would be likely to piss them off.

  • Matt says:

Probably not, chicken and hamburgers taste too damn good. 😛

  • Tamara says:

    I would definitely re-vegitarian ize.

  • Becky says:

    I don't think I'd switch.

  • Jesus says:

Unless they take over the world I don't really see a reason why not eat them. Unless of course I started working with such animals, and became friends with some. But that just seems really weird.

  • T.A.B. says:

I would make the animals battle to the death for our amusement, THEN eat them.

  • Naomi says:

That wouldn't leave much left for me to eat... I'm not supposed to eat carbohydrates (diabetes)... just veggies and fruits would get lame. I suppose then the whole vegan issue would be involved as well. If I had a chicken tell me not to eat its baby, I think I'd be a little disturbed though.

    I already am (pretty) vegetarian.

I turned vegetarian aged 18 (when I first left home), but since I discovered a dairy intolerance when I was 25, I've found that if I want to eat out with friends, or eat at my parents' home,I have to accept eating fish if there are no other options.

Most restaurants' have very cheesy vegetarian options, you know!

I still feel guilty every time I eat fish... but considering that's it's dead already and if the alternative is to go hungry... It's still difficult. Maybe it would be easier if I had never eaten meat or fish...
