Thus revealed, the creature buried its nose in the tire-tilled soil...

A plan, a dream, a photo.

So now I'm thinking I'll probably end up in Hoboken or Jersey City, since for the same price that I'd pay for a tiny hovel in one of the outer boroughs of NYC I could apparently live in a relatively nice place and spend about the same amount of time commuting into Manhattan! Plus, while I like the city lots and would probably be hanging out there a fair amount, it might be better to actually live in a quieter and cleaner little town. I think sales tax in NJ is lower, too!

Hopefully this will all work out! I submitted my two-week notice today, so as of August 26 I'll be free of employment ties to the area and ready to relocate. And in the way of careers, while I'm very much interested in writing and would hopefully be able to find a gig doing that, a man from US Investigation Services came by the school to do a background check on a former student, and as I escorted him to the appropriate office he told me about what his job entails, etc. -- and it actually sounded pretty gosh darned cool! Almost like being a private eye or a government spy. I will have to look into it. Can you see me doing background checks? I'd like to do a background check on myself to see what kind of dirt turns up.

So I had a weird dream last night -- I dreamed two guys and I tried to rob a bank (though I didn't really believe that they were serious until we walked into the place and they whipped out guns), but of course things didn't pan out and we got arrested. And then the cops or an attorney or someone basically told me I was screwed since the other two guys were younger than me and were making it sound like I, being the eldest and smartest member of the clique, had used my superior age and intellect and charisma to seduce them to the criminal underworld. I wasn't worried -- I was like, "Whatever; I'll beat this!" -- and I woke up during the preparations for my trial, but upon further reflection I should've known from the get that this was a dream. First of all, we didn't even walk into a bank -- it was a toy store that we robbed. The toy store where I used to work, actually, except it appeared more/less like a small Toys 'R' Us (instead of the KB Toys that it was). Moreover, that store has since closed, so robbing it would get kinda pointless. And while I'd hardly rob a toy store (or any store, really), if I were going to rob one, I'd be sure to steal at least a few toys. So that I didn't even think to steal any is not only proof that I had no idea they were serious about robbing the joint (that was totally going into my defense), but that I was dreaming -- because there's no way I would otherwise have neglected to take a few Turtles with me. The lapses in time -- I was going to trial within like ten minutes of having been arrested! -- should have been a tipoff as well, not to mention the fact that I'd never set out to commit a sensitive crime like robbery with complete idiots. As we ran back to the car and hopped in, police started showing up on the scene almost immediately -- and the fucking wheelman started murmuring to himself in fear and driving around in circles to the point that I actually got dizzy and felt sick as I stayed close to the floor in case the cops started shooting. But the whole time I'm screaming, "FLOOR IT!!! GET US THE FUCK OUT OF HERE, YOU MORON!!!!" and this idiot just jibbered and kept driving in circles! Then, when he finally did muster up the courage to drive ahead -- we were thoroughly surrounded by this point, folks -- he actually spotted a gap in the police barricade and headed for it... only to STOP right as the car broke it! Then the fucker hopped out and begged the cops not to shoot him. I was fucking pissed.

Very chill.

Here is a photo of me. 😛 It is deceiving, because I am not actually relaxed in this photo! I had ten seconds to run across the room and strike a pose. What do you think?

And that's all I've got for now. See you next time, and thanks to everyone who commented with advice on the last post! Hopefully things will work out.
