I'm still feeling a little drained, and I'm not sure I have a ton to say about the subject, but here goes.

Contrary to what some people have argued, I have no doubt whatsoever that the words of the Bible explicitly disapprove of homosexual relations -- and Judaism and Christianity are clearly not the only religions that view homosexuality as sinful in nature.

However, the topic of gay marriage is not properly an issue of religion, but an issue of state. (Perhaps these two forums -- state and religion -- are not ultimately so easily divorced, as the laws must appeal to, in the end, some conception of the good, which, I think, must be transcendent if it is to mean anything. However, there is supposed to be a marked separation of church and state, and, in any case, we are not discussing these subjects on the meta-level at which they converge.) (more...)

I know I promised that post on homosexuality, but now I'm too drained to write it. I have no idea why I'm so tired. 🙁 Definitely tomorrow, though. For now, sleep.

The argument raging on in Amanda's blog is now about homosexuality, a topic that Dawn, Anon, and Val have all posted on recently (links will take you to the relevant posts, and am I leaving anyone out)? So I think I'll offer my thoughts on the subject too. Briefly. Ok?

I won the damned Super Turtle and I'm still considering bidding on these bad boys. One Super Turtle is never enough -- like potato chips, they are.

Two things.

First, Dusty Plastic HELL #2 is up. Read, enjoy. And while it may seem like I wrote it specifically to coincide with the second update, that's not true -- this thing has been written for months. It just so happened that I decided to put them both up at the same time. 🙂

Secondly, SC is now accepting PayPal donations! Further details are listed here, in the brief site info section at the bottom of the main page. But to echo what I said there -- if you enjoy SC and really feel compelled to donate, go ahead and make a donation, but it's not at all imperative that you do so. It's totally up to you. Other ways you could help are by donating toys (unlike children's charity organizations, they don't have to be new -- just don't send me toys filled with roaches and anthrax) and other random stuff that needs reviewing, or simply by telling your friends about the site. Even an e-mail with kind and encouraging words would be helpful. But yeah, money helps too, so now you've got a way to throw SC a dollar from time to time. 🙂 (more...)
