Scary-Crayon updated! And great films.
Category: SC Updates

I forgot how much work goes into these freaking long movie reviews, so in the event that I don't have the second TMNT anime piece up by Tuesday (which isn't looking too good...), here's A Crayon Haiku #8 to help pass the time. This one's actually got three haikus in it. Woo. (more...)

Scary-Crayon updated, JL & Wolverine, shit.
Category: SC Updates

Yep! It'll actually have been updated for about three or so hours by the time of this posting, but I made dinner and stuff first. The main course -- a meatless spicy "chik'n" patty sandwich with fat free ranch dressing and banana sauce -- wasn't all that interesting (conceptually speaking, I mean; it tasted fine), but the sides I made -- a small bowl of microwaved frozen potato rounds mashed with two teaspoons of sugar and half a teaspoon of ground cinnamon; a mixture of corn and pancake batter fried in oil (of course) -- were pretty neat stuff. Last night I fried a mixture of bean thread and pancake batter, which turned out like a crispy pancake with noodle filling. Great stuff! Pancake batter is awesome for frying.

Anyway, tonight's Scary-Crayon update brings us the third installment of Dusty Plastic HELL. I know I promised it yesterday, but I got kinda sidetracked. Forgive me. Please? (more...)

SC stuff and more JL questions.
Category: SC Updates

So tonight I finished the first draft of the TMNT anime review, episode 2. So far I've got 4,155 words and 268 screen captures. Yikes. Of course, not all of those screencaps will make it into the review -- only about 1/4 of them -- but still, that's a lot of cappin'. The review itself will probably be even longer, though, so I'm thinking maybe I'll skip the Metal Shredder review at the end of the article, since it'll be more than long enough as it is. Most of the people only visit the first page of the articles anyway. :/ (more...)

A quiz, links, a drawing, AMCWTW, and the Flash...
Category: Art … Meme

From Amanda, who got it from Jenica (who's been added to the links, though I've taken the liberty of shortening her blog title -- I'd Rather Be A Mermaid Than A Flame -- for aesthetic reasons), a quiz.

6.25 %

My weblog owns 6.25 % of me.

Does your weblog own you?

I probably would've scored even lower had it not been for the question about whether you dream about meeting other people you only know from their blogs and the internet. I wouldn't say that I dream about it -- in that I fantasize about meeting them and give serious thought to what I would say if I ever happened upon them in person -- but I would like to meet most of the people whose blogs are linked in the sidebar. And I did have that dream about meeting Caren (read about it here, and whoa, has it been a month already?), so I answered yes. And while I'm at it, congrats to Caren regarding the rising success of her new book, and my thanks to her for the link. Anyway, there's another quiz window I can close. (more...)

Scary-Crayon updated!
Category: SC Updates

Scary-Crayon has the soul of a poet, as evidenced in these two latest pieces: A Crayon Haiku #13 and Crayon Poetry Corner #1. They're fairly quick and painless, so read and enjoy. 🙂 And as always, comments via e-mail are appreciated.

I finished up the drawing of the mystery character shown in part last time (click or scroll down), but I'll give you a little longer to guess who it is. Y'know, if you care to. Anon and RPD (webmaster of Ice Anvil Online; good stuff there) have got it so far. Feel free to add your guesses to the mix. Ja! 🙂
