Thanksgiving over here was pretty blah, but not horrible and certainly more pleasant than it's been in years. I went with my mother to one of the mess halls on the army base for an early dinner, we ate, and then I came back here and slept (which isn't quite as bad as it sounds, considering I'd been up for the entire night -- which incidentally is also the case at the time of this writing).

So the Bug is getting Doctor Who toys for Xmas? That's pretty cool! Though I'm not sure I'd recommend them for kids -- they kinda pale when compared to some (many/most) of the action figures currently in stores these days. The Dalek, as you well know, is fantastic, but the human figures with their soft plastic and almost dead-looking facial sculpts kind of irk me. The Doctor was kind of a must-have for me -- after all, he's the Doctor -- and the Series 2 Rose figure does look really good. Besides, she comes with K-9!

I haven't been moved to get any of the others, though, given that most of them are of one-shot characters from decidedly less-than-stellar episodes. And while I do like Mickey and Martha and Captain Jack (!!!) enough to want figures of them, I hate the sculpts enough to pass. I'm hoping they get second versions like Rose -- particularly Captain Jack. He'd look great in his Torchwood outfit, and if they did the whole crew I could also pick up a Tosh for use in Hot Flashes involving aliens and lesbian sex. Yep.

Haven't made the total plunge into picking up the Doctor Who toys just yet (though I do have the Genesis Ark set), but I have a feeling that will soon happen since Cora is receiving some for Christmas.

Hope Thanksgiving was okay. Ours was pretty eh and we get to do it again on Saturday over at my mother's house. Maybe some random passerby will kick me in the balls too.
