Holy Hellraiser dream, Batman!
Category: Dreams

Fuckfuckfuckfuckfuck I just had a really scary dream. I'd started to write a long blog post detailing it, but hell I think I'm going to actually include the images -- yes... it will have images, because fuck man when I woke up I was seeing dripping entrails and Pinhead's face in all sorts of objects in my room -- and some screencaps from Hellraiser I and post it as a bonus Scary-Crayon entry. Heh... that ought to help make up for the recent lack of updates...

So look for that, but here's the short-short of the dream: I got married in it. Except it wasn't really me -- it was Jon and Val's wedding, and I was cast as Val, which is a lot less interesting than it sounds because it wasn't a speaking part -- and it damned sure wasn't your average wedding ceremony, either. Oh, that word's boldfaced for a reason. See, this was a ceremony for people who wanted to become fucking Cenobites on their wedding day. Yes, Cenobites. As in the demons (to some... angels to others...) from Clive Barker's Hellraiser films. Now, I've never read any of the books on which the films were based -- I'd be curious to, just to see if a similar ceremony took place in any of those -- but man that ceremony was fucked up. Very fannish, but still very creepy (hey, extreme devotion to anything is pretty creepy to begin with, and those movies weren't exactly vanilla...). Fuck. Like I said, I woke up and was so scared I was seeing Pinhead's face in the fucking flower designs on my mattress and shit. I half expected for hooks and coils to grab my foot the second I stepped out of the bed, and I still kind of expect something like that to happen and drag me, kicking and screaming, down to Hell.

Oh, wait, I'm supposed to be getting ready for work at the bookstore... I'm opening today. Close enough.  🙁

Read A Random Lunch #7! STAY TUNED for Wes's Hellraiser Dream! Ja for now.
