Scary-Crayon updated!
Category: Blog … SC Updates

Two new pieces for y'all today: A Crayon Haiku #21 and Dusty Plastic HELL: Hot Flash #17 -- the latter of which is not work safe, as it features bared breasts and, uh... something else which sounds a lot worse than the art looks. Really, it's not so bad. Be brave, minna-san!

And I'm still looking for NYC area folks willing to shelter me for a few nights next week... any takers? Lemme know. Anyway, ja!

Curse you, eBaaaaaaay!

It's happened again. Every now and then I swing by eBay to check and see if something obscure and/or from Japan that I want is available. Usually it's not, and most of the time when it is it's too expensive for me to even consider purchasing unless I really really desire it (oh, how I lusted after that Turtle Saint action figure -- don't laugh; that thing is beautiful), but occasionally I find the object of my affections for sale and at a price I can afford. But that's never the only thing I find, because then I decide to check for something else that has eluded me in the past. (more...)

Wow. Go-go Scary-Crayon!
Category: Blog … SC Updates

I slid that final article in just three minutes before the clock struck twelve, but that's the last of the anniversary pieces -- joining the two that went up earlier are A Random Lunch #8 (which actually went up about four hours ago, but I was too busy working on the next to post) and the special tribute article. Wow, that was a lot of work! I've literally spent every waking hour of my day working on these bloody SC features. Ah, the price we pay for fame money the satisfaction of having made the world a better place... Hey, why am I doing this again??? o_O;;;

I haven't even eaten, which means I'm going to go get some food now. Ja. And enjoy!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SCARY-CRAYON!
Category: Blog … SC Updates

Yes! We'll have two more pieces later today, but in the meantime here's Scary-Crayon's first ever music CD review and our final adventure with the honorable Red Lobster! Hopefully those two pieces will keep you entertained until Kain and Wild Boar Alien return this afternoon! :D

Stuff that’s happened
Category: Blog

So. Several things have changed in the week or so it's been since my last post that wasn't primarily a Scary-Crayon notice. (By the way, the one-year anniversary is tomorrow! STAY TUNED!) Wednesday was my last official day of work at the community college, so now I'm back down to one part-time job for the time being. Mixed feelings about that -- yeah, I did like a few of the people with whom I worked there, and the job certainly paid more than the bookstore job (and was a little less infuriating, in part for that reason), but at the same time I can use the extra time I'll have to start getting some things in order. Not having to wake up at 5AM or ride public transportation will be nice too. So yeah, I'll have less money (a lot less money, actually) but more time to relax. (more...)

Bacardi returns to Scary-Crayon in Dusty Plastic HELL: Hot Flash #16! Also, the Site Talk block on the content pages has been updated -- last call for fan/reader testimonials! So if you've enjoyed our content, feel free to send us an anecdote about how you first came to the site, words about your favorite article, etc., or even a photo of yourself posing with a crayon or action figgah or something! Thanks, and we hope you continue to enjoy SC as it begins its second year of operations! :)

Assuming you enjoyed the site during its first year, anyway.

I’m such a stud.

So I said to my highly attractive co-worker, "Yeah, I think I'd like to be cremated too. I don't know about having my ashes spread over green fields and the ocean and whatnot, though. I think I'd rather be kept in an urn or something, but with a curse put on it so that I could return if certain conditions were fulfilled. For instance: If it snowed on two dragonflies mating in a bush, I could come back and do, uh, nasty things to people."
